Seafood Restaurant Near Soho
If you’re seeking seafood, beat a path to Beast, where their avid food hunters have scoured the planet for the finest flesh - including the inky depths of the world’s oceans.
MoreWhen it comes to savouring the finest flesh from land and sea, it doesn’t come much better than the noble oyster - each variety with its own unique flavour notes.
As purveyors of the epitome of surf and turf, oysters are naturally part of the Beast menus in their various guises, alongside the likes of Norwegian King Crab, Wild Nigerian Prawn and incredible steak from Nebraska, Australia, Italy, Japan and the UK’s very own Lake District.
Shucked and prepared to order, Beast oysters are a truly special experience - whether that’s a half dozen or the full dozen to slurp and savour from the A La Carte Menu.
Loch Ryan Native Oysters, slow growing, with extremely dense meat, have a nutty flavour, and briny finish, whilst the French Gillardeau, the famous fourth generation oyster dynasty, are sweet, fruity and salty.
If you’re dining from either of the Beast Experience Menus - Beast or Exclusive Surf & Turf - then you’re in for a real treat as they both feature Jersey Rock Oysters with Tiger’s Milk.
The Jersey oysters - in their beautiful tear-shaped shell, are light in colour, whilst the special environment in which they grow gives them a unique delicate, fresh and salty flavour.
This is complemented perfectly by the Tiger’s Milk (or leche de tigre as it’s sometimes known) - a citrus-based, spicy marinade. Incredible.
The finest oysters deserve a great wine to complement their complex flavours - and Beast’s wine list offers just that - 300 exceptional bins featuring such famous names as Lafite, Margaux, Rothschild, Opus One and Sine Qua Non, with wines from around the globe - France, Italy and Germany; Spain, Greece and Portugal; USA, Argentina, New Zealand and Australia.
Of course you’ll want to start your oyster experience with an amazing aperitif - such as the grassy citrus notes of Mind Your Peas and Qs or the nutty El Caballero from the Beast Signature menu. There are Beast Classics to savour such as the Pisco Sour or Mai Tai, as well as a fine selection of non-alcoholic cocktails such as the Mango Colada and Virgin Mary.
Behind Beast’s enigmatic door in London lies a place to drink and feast on the finest oysters; happily this candlelit sanctuary is in the heart of the capital and easy to track down.
Chapel Place is just off Oxford Street, a nirvana of retail therapy, as well as being within easy reach of more shopping treasures such as Fortnum & Mason, Savile Row, Liberty and Carnaby Street.
If your visit to Beast coincides with sightseeing, the wide open green spaces of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens are not far away - and neither are the likes of The British Museum, Buckingham Palace and the myriad of theatres around Leicester Square and Shaftesbury Avenue.
